Behaviour Support Practitioner
Nikki has extensive experience in supporting children and adults with a range of disabilities. Her practice is driven by a strengths-based and person-centred approach. She is extremely passionate about empowering people with a disability to build capacity and increase choice and control in their life.
Nikki has worked on the ground as a Team Leader and Disability Support Worker assisting people with a disability for over 5 years. During this time, she was heavily involved in supporting clients presenting with challenging behaviours and working collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve goals holistically.
Nikki is an advocate for using positive behaviour support as a tool to assist clients to express their thoughts and educate others to understand their actions. She places importance on inclusive and mindful language to maintain the dignity of people with a disability.
Nikki will always strive to support people with a disability to reach their full potential and promote their independence as a valued member of their community.
