Julie has extensive experience in supporting families and young adults with a range of disabilities. She has worked in multiple roles throughout her career with Education Qld including as a Japanese and Special Needs Teacher, Numeracy coach, Advisory Visiting Teacher (Intellectual Impairment, Autism & Speech Language Impairment), and Head of Special Needs Services.
Julie worked in the remote areas of North Qld to provide training and support for Teachers, families, and communities. Through this work she supported young adults with a disability, from diverse backgrounds and cultural heritages.
Julie supports individuals with complex needs by applying a person-centred approach and implementing practical strategies. Her passion is to work collaboratively with the individual, their interdisciplinary support team, family members and carers to achieve positive outcomes that will improve community and social access for the individual.
