This is how you can meet with a psychologist in Brisbane using NDIS funds

Are you looking for a psychologist in Brisbane? If you’re an NDIS participant looking for a psychologist in Greater Brisbane and beyond, we can help you.

Psychology support we provide in Brisbane

We support NDIS participants in Brisbane in a number of ways, including therapy and assessments.

Therapy may involve an assessment with your psychologist, to help your psychologist understand your needs and goals. Following an initial assessment, you’ll meet with your psychologist for therapy sessions to help you meet your goals and improve your quality of life.

Depending on your needs, there are different assessments that may be carried out to help us support you. This may include cognitive assessments, which may be used for identifying any barriers and additional support required to help you reach your goals.

In addition to psychology support, psychologists at Ability Consultants can also provide positive behaviour support in Brisbane. Visit our article for more information about positive behaviour support in Brisbane.

Whichever type of support you need, our psychologists and behaviour support practitioners will always take a person-centred approach: we will always keep you involved in the process and in decision making, and we will seek to truly understand what’s important to you and how we can best support you.

Who we support with psychology

We can provide psychology services in Brisbane to NDIS participants with a range of diagnoses and we support participants of all ages, including school aged children, adolescents and adults.

At Ability Consultants, we primarily support NDIS participants, that is, individuals in Australia with a disability and an NDIS Plan. An NDIS Plan includes information about goals, funding and the types of support you can access with your funding. For information about NDIS funding, see our article “Are you wondering which NDIS funding you can use for psychology?

We also provide psychology services to individuals without NDIS funding and individuals who do not have a disability.

Where we provide NDIS psychology support in Brisbane

We travel to you! You don’t need to worry about hopping in the car or catching a bus to travel to a clinic — we come to you, at a time that works for you.

We support NDIS participants in Greater Brisbane through in-person and remote support using telepractice. If you’re based in the city, we can travel to most suburbs, from Chermside through to Ipswich and more.

If you’re located outside of Brisbane, we can provide psychology services through telepractice, which involves phone calls and video calls. Australians in regional and rural Queensland have benefited from telehealth for many years and we’re grateful that technology has made psychology and behaviour support more accessible. We usually use Zoom or Google Meet, but are flexible to meet in a way that you’re comfortable with.
