So, after building a customised mobile app, for tracking sleep, behaviour, transport and daily progress notes for a young male client, I recieved an amazing email from a colleague, the other day.
“The app is quite enjoyable to use. Perhaps we can include the Bowel Movement Charts on it as well…
Andy is a disability support worker, working long and often very challenging shifts, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of his clients. In my 17 years working in Disability, nobody has described data collection to me as enjoyable. And nobody has asked me to add more forms before. I love data, but like most Disability workers, I value human interaction more. I am excited after 17 years in this field to have finally found a way to make data collection fun.
AND… now the quality and detail of the daily data has improved out of sight! At any time I am confident I have an accurate and detailed understanding of this young man’s circle of support.
In real time for this client, from any device connected to the web, managers, coworkers, family and clinicians can view sleep charts, shift notes, ABC charts, incident reports… and any other data that we create a custom form for. Bowel chart is next.
Only people granted consent can view the data which is protected by the exact user security used by Google itself.
So excited to be creating new personalised apps with people, allowing paperless and improved documentation, cheaply and rapidly.
